Mother of four arrested for being in possession of human skull

A mother of four (name withheld) has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for being in possession of human skull 

The suspect, a divorcee who deals with traditional items during a parade confessed to the crime that, she bought the human skull at N8,000 from a cemetery attendant.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Kontongs Bello, said the suspect was among other 16 arrested for various crimes by the Command in the last two weeks.

She claimed that the skull was sold to a male suspect at N40,000, while adding that the male suspect gave her extra N5,000 for carrying out the assignment successfully.

The suspect said the human part was sold to his accomplice in February and was arrested in the month of May.

Bello added that the male suspect had equally been arrested by the Police, explaining that an herbalist asked him to come with human skull so as to make sacrifice that would make him prosperous in his business.

However, the herbalist who had also been arrested, said that the male suspect approached him that he needed a soap and he advised him to get a human skull for him to get the ritual done.

The 42 year-old herbalist said that the male suspect came to him with a human skull two months after which he used for the ritual.
