A bill seeking the creation of additional Federal Medical Centre in Ogun State sponsored by Hon Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade, has passed the first reading.
Akinlade, the Chairman, House Committee on Aviation Technology and also a member is Health Committee had presented a Bill to establish another FMC in the state.
The lawmaker in a statement signed and obtained by News Contact Online said the Act Amendment Bill, 2024 (HB.1218) has passed first reading in the National Assembly on Tuesday.
According to him, the bill is to address the need for the establishment of more Federal Medical Centers in Ogun State, the Gateway State, with over seven million population.
He explained that the only Federal Medical Center in the state has been congested and the need for more FMCs in order to provide qualitative health care services the people of the State.
