The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) regrets to announce the passing of Deaconess Doyin Ogunbiyi Fnipr, former Chairman of the Chapter and a distinguished three-term Commissioner in Ogun State. She passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the age of 68.
Deaconess Ogunbiyi was a trailblazer and the first female to serve as Chairman of the Ogun NIPR Chapter, making an indelible mark in the history of our Chapter and the public relations profession in Nigeria. A devout Christian and a passionate advocate for community development, she also served as chairperson for various Non-Governmental Organizations.
Throughout her tenure as Chairman, Deaconess Ogunbiyi demonstrated exemplary leadership, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to advancing public relations practice in Ogun State and beyond. Her tenure was marked by innovative initiatives, groundbreaking achievements, and unwavering dedication to excellence.
Her contributions transcended gender barriers, paving the way for women in the industry and setting a gold standard of integrity, mentorship, and service.
The Ogun State NIPR family extends heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, and the entire public relations community. We acknowledge her immeasurable contributions to the growth of our Chapter and her steadfast support of our collective goals. Her legacy will forever be cherished and celebrated.
To honor her memory, a condolence register has been opened at the NIPR Chapter Secretariat in Abeokuta, where members of the public, colleagues, and well-wishers can pay their tributes and share messages of respect and admiration.
