Photo News: Salako advocates removal of fossil fuel subsidy

The Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, has advocated that the removal of fossil fuel subsidy by any member nation in the Conference of Parties to the United Nations.

The Minister in a post on his Facebook page wrote, “Representing my country at the high level preparatory meeting towards the Conference of Parties to the UN Framework for Climate Change coming up later in the year in Dubai, UAE.

” I advocated that removal fossil fuel subsidy by any member country should be amplified as a major climate action and should enjoy climate mitigation funding to reduce the severity and painfulness of such an action on the people.”
