The Ooye of Iwoye Ketu, Oba (Sir).Isaac Adegbenro Oyero, was on Tuesday, inducted as a member of Yewa Traditional Council of Obas.
The meeting presided over by the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle drew the presence of eminent traditional rulers from across Yewaland, who warmly welcomed the Ooye into their esteemed fold.
In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Ooye, Prince Abel Adekunle Babatunde,disclosed that the Onidofa of Idofa,.Oba David Aremu Adeyanju, prayed for long life, good health, and a prosperous reign for the Ooye of Iwoye-Ketu, while also invoking divine progress and development for the ancient town.
While the Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamin Olanite, in a symbolic gesture of honour and fraternity, ushered the Ooye to his seat within the council chamber.
The occasion was marked by glowing tributes to the Ooye’s generosity, benevolence, and steadfast commitment to unity. In his address, the Olu of Ilaro underscored the importance of harmony and cooperation, particularly between traditional rulers and their chiefs. He urged the chiefs of Iwoye-Ketu to rally round their monarch and uphold his reign with loyalty and devotion.
Other royal fathers present also extended words of prayer, solidarity, and goodwill to Oba Adegbenro, wishing him a peaceful, impactful reign, and a safe return journey for himself and his entourage.
The induction not only reinforces the bonds of brotherhood among Yewa traditional institutions, but also heralds a new dawn of progress and cooperation for Iwoye-Ketu under the leadership of Oba Adegbenro.
