“Don’t work for me. Work with me.”

DON’T WORK FOR ME, WORK WITH ME.

That simple statement, often repeated by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), explains better than any campaign slogan why his governorship project continues to attract people from every walk of life.

A friend of mine in the banking sector once told me that the secret to succeeding as a Banker is to stop seeing the job as just another means of earning a salary and begin to own it.

The moment you own the vision, your commitment, creativity and results become different.

That is exactly the atmosphere Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) creates. One of his greatest leadership qualities is his ability to give everyone around him a genuine sense of belonging. He doesn’t make people feel like mere supporters or spectators; he gives them a place in the vision and a role in the mission. Thereby making the whole process a collective one.

The Senator often says, “Don’t work for me; work with me.” Those words are more than a slogan or clichĂ©; they reflect a leadership philosophy built on inclusion, partnership and shared purpose. When you meet him, you don’t just support his vision for Ogun State, you begin to own it. Because Yayi is real and unpretentious about anything.

That, more than anything else, explains the overwhelming support and commitment this project has continued to enjoy. It is not just YAYI’s journey; it is our collective journey to a Greater Ogun State.

Now, to my friends still on the other side of the divide… what exactly are you still doing there? 😄 Is it just to prove a point or vent your anger? Politics is far too serious for that. If it’s greater Ogun State, then Yayi is the only viable way presently.

Why remain in a party that seems to spend more time navigating internal factions than charting a clear direction for the state and the nation? One day it’s the Wike camp, the next day it’s the Turaki camp (Rederede).

It is almost like an endless tug-of-war. 😄

Come and join a platform with one vision, one direction and one family. Come and partner with a leader and governorship candidate who is not abusive or caustic, but always in charge of his emotions. One who simply says, “Don’t work for me; work with me.”

And I honestly think that’s an invitation worth accepting.
