GFF@25: Daniel brings free surgeries, medical care to Ogun East

Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has announced a free medical mission expected to provide consultations, medication, eye and dental care, as well as major and minor surgeries to thousands of residents across the Ogun East Senatorial District.
The medical outreach, News Contact Online learnt was part of activities marking the 25th anniversary of the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF@25), scheduled to hold from October 9 to 24, 2026, with medical doctors from the United States-based Sharing Hope Medical Mission expected in Nigeria within the next few days.
According to the organisers, more than 50 medical doctors will participate in the exercise, which is expected to attend to over 15,000 patients.
The mission, which will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will offer free medical consultations, drugs, eye care, dental services and surgical procedures, including gynaecological, orthopaedic and plastic surgeries for burn-related conditions.
The organisers said the initiative was designed not only to provide immediate medical intervention to indigent residents but also to strengthen the capacity of healthcare practitioners through specialised training.
Healthcare professionals participating in the programme are expected to receive internationally recognised certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Stop the Bleed and Advanced Paediatric Life Support.
The American medical team will also deliver advanced surgical lectures as part of the professional development component of the mission.
For effective coordination and crowd management, the organisers have decentralised the medical outreach across the nine local government areas that make up Ogun East Senatorial District.
The exercise will commence on October 9 in Ijebu North Local Government Area at Kabiesi Solaja Hall, 4 Four Junction, Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo, and Bojowa Street, opposite Wema Bank, Ago-Iwoye.
On October 10, residents of Ijebu North-East will be attended to at the GFF Care Centre, 1 Elerunwon Drive, Erunwon, Ijebu.
The outreach will move to Sagamu Local Government on October 12, with centres at Asoludero Hall, Obafemi Awolowo Avenue, GRA Quarters, Sagamu, and 46 Imoro Atiba Street, after Harilah School, off Ilara Market Road, Ogijo.
Ijebu-Ode Local Government will host the programme on October 13 at Obalofin Hall, beside Obanta Club, GRA, while Ogun Waterside will take its turn on October 14 at Abigi Community Town Hall, opposite Muslim Primary School, Abigi.
Ikenne Local Government is scheduled for October 15 at 54 Taiye Solarin Way, beside Dideolu Store, Ayewo House, Ikenne.
On October 16, the programme will hold in Odogbolu Local Government at Erinolu, VP Igun House, beside Colonel Awote Compound House, Erinolu, and the GFF Office, Omu-Ijebu.
Ijebu East Local Government will host the exercise on October 17 at Hazelway Hotel, Ijebu-Mushin, while Remo North Local Government will host residents on October 18 at Ode-Remo Main Market, Ode-Remo.
In addition to the decentralised centres, the Redeemers Health Village, RCCG Camp, Redemption City, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, will serve as the central location for the surgical component of the mission.
The organisers said only medical conditions requiring surgery would be handled at the Redeemers Health Village, with the surgical programme scheduled for October 9 to 16.
The central medical facility is located at the Arch Area, Health Village, beside the Tree of Life Gate, Redemption City, Ogun State, KM 45, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The GFF@25 medical mission is being promoted under the theme: “Rekindling Hope, Healing Lives.”
The initiative is expected to provide an opportunity for residents, particularly those who may not ordinarily be able to afford specialised medical treatment, to access quality healthcare free of charge, while also exposing Nigerian healthcare practitioners to international medical expertise.
