The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, has charged the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to actualised the potentials in the ministry towards boosting the state Internal Generated Revenue (IGR), for optimal service delivery to the people.
Fagbohun stated this during the visit of the Ministry’s commissioner, Hon. Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo and other top management team to his office on Thursday, that the culture and tourism sector remained a greenfield and goldmine capable of increasing the state IGR.
The HoS enjoined the Commissioner and her team to exhibit their support for the present administration in the state by placing more emphasis on creation of programmes and activities capable of increasing its revenue, which will invariably translate to improved workers’ welfare and productivity.
“Culture and Tourism is a greenfield, a gold mine. Ogun State troupes are known worldwide as the best; I want to enjoin you to help the government generate its IGR by placing more emphasis on revenue generation which shows that you are in my support and that of the government. Improved IGR translates to improved workers’ welfare. Let us all join hands to increase the State’s IGR; this support should be demonstrated in form of enhanced performance, punctuality to work and productivity,” Fagbohun added.
Speaking earlier, Hon. Adeleye-Oladapo stated that the essence of the courtesy call to his office was to felicitate him on his appointment as the 19th Head of Service in the State, encourage him, as well as express the readiness of the Ministry to synergise with the office of the HoS in taking the State to an enviable position through different cultural and tourism drives.
Oladapo hinted further that one of the goals of the Ministry is to reposition culture and tourism in the State by ensuring it attains an enviable position in the global world, adding that all hands are on deck in the Ministry to support the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration through improved performance and productivity which will lead to increased IGR.
