2027: Senator Adeola holds strategic meeting with Odogbolu APC stakeholders’….seeks unity
The Ogun State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, and his running mate, Mrs. Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, on Monday met leaders and stakeholders of the party in Odogbolu Local Government, urging unity and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls.
Speaking at the strategic engagement, Adeola said the meeting was convened after an independent assessment of Odogbolu LG revealed gaps in the party structure that required urgent attention.
He stressed that no critical stakeholder would be left out of consultations to strengthen the APC.
The senator defended his choice of Adegunwa-Balogun as deputy, describing her as a seasoned corporate executive and finance expert with over two decades of relationship with him. He expressed confidence in her capacity to add value to governance in Ogun State.
Adeola declared Odogbolu a “must-win” for the APC, charging leaders, aspirants and party faithful to set aside grievances. “Elections are won at the ward and polling unit levels. We need stronger grassroots structures and inclusiveness,” he said.
He promised fair and transparent distribution of appointments and empowerment programmes under his leadership, while also calling for total support for Governor Dapo Abiodun’s Ogun East senatorial bid.
Dignitaries at the meeting included Minister of State for Health, Dr. Isiaq Salako; Hon. Olusegun Ogunbanwo; Hon. Femi Ogunbanwo; Hon. Remmy Hazzan; Otunba Tope Tokoya; Barrister Gbenga Adeyemi; former LG Chairman, Hon. Yobo; Mrs. Cole, ward leaders and other stakeholders from the 15 wards.
Stakeholders commended Adeola’s inclusive approach and pledged to resolve internal rifts to deliver Odogbolu for the APC in 2027. Adeola called for a collegiate leadership structure in the LG and restated his commitment to education, infrastructure, healthcare and economic empowerment across the state.
