The Ogun State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly called Yayi, on Tuesday, announced plans to strengthen ward structures through a collegiate leadership system and polling unit teams.

He made this known at a stakeholders’ meeting with leaders of the party in Ijebu East Local Government, stressing that mobilisation would be ward-driven.

Senator Adeola during the meeting which had in attendance his running mate, Mrs Kudirat Adegunwa- Balogun; former deputy governor of the State, Prince Segun Adesegun; Chief J.O. Ogundeko, Chief Aloro, Hon. Onamusi, Hon. Adegbesan, Baba Ariya, party executives and ward leaders from across the LG, said no party member should be excluded from APC activities, regardless of past affiliations.

He expressed displeasure over reports that some members were not invited and directed leaders to reach out to absentees.

“Politics is about managing interests. No stakeholder should feel alienated,” he said.

The senator said the engagement was to thank leaders for supporting his emergence as consensus candidate and to address Ijebu East’s recurring electoral setbacks. He announced plans to strengthen ward structures through a collegiate leadership system and polling unit teams, stressing that mobilisation would be ward-driven.

Adeola formally introduced Adegunwa-Balogun as his deputy, promising that all tendencies in the party would be protected. He also called for full backing of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s Ogun East senatorial bid, describing it as strategic.

He appealed for reconciliation of aggrieved members and former aspirants, pledging fair distribution of appointments and development projects.

“Nobody who built this party will be discarded,” he added.

Former Deputy Governor Segun Adesegun described the meeting as timely and praised Adeola’s inclusive approach. Stakeholders blamed exclusion and poor communication for past losses but pledged to close ranks for APC’s victory in 2027.
