The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ilara/Alagbe Ward in Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State, has inaugurated its Polling Unit Coordinators and Canvassers as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots organisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration, held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Ilara Town Hall, brought together party leaders, elders, ward executives, polling unit coordinators and canvassers.

Speaking at the event, APC leaders charged the newly inaugurated officials to demonstrate commitment, discipline and responsibility in the discharge of their duties.

Among those who addressed the gathering were a former APC Chairman of Imeko-Afon Local Government, Hon. Olalotan Olusegun; former Executive Chairman of the local government and Consultant to the Ogun State Governor, Hon. Prince Adeluyi Tosin (PAT); Chief Theophilus Ogunrinde; Supervisor for Works, Imeko-Afon Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Joseph; and Councillor representing Ilara/Alagbe Ward, Hon. Shola Kugbakin.

The leaders emphasised the need for effective communication, respectful engagement with party members and close collaboration with ward leadership to ensure effective coordination at the grassroots.

They urged the coordinators and canvassers to remain dedicated to their responsibilities and promote unity and peaceful political participation within the ward.

The party leaders also called on the newly inaugurated officials to work collectively towards mobilising eligible voters for APC candidates across the various elective positions in the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration, according to the Ward Publicity Secretary, Edun Dare Gafari, was part of efforts by the ward’s leaders and executives to build a more coordinated and responsive grassroots structure.

The event ended with renewed calls for unity, discipline, commitment and sustained grassroots engagement as the APC continues preparations for the 2027 general elections.
